A sigh of relief: Californians with low income will receive $600 stimulus checks

Governor Cavin Newsom announced an economic relief package of $600 stimulus payments for the low-income Californians to help them tackle the financial crisis amid the pandemic.

Amid the prolonged political turmoil and the severe health crisis in the state and across the country, the government has brought in relieving news for the Californians on the financial front.

The state has agreed to provide the stimulus payments to its low-income citizens. On Wednesday, Governor Gavin Newsom and other legislators mutually consented to issue a state stimulus payment of $600 to the people who have low income.

The stimulus payments come as a move to provide some financial relief to people who have been undergoing a sharp monetary crisis the coronavirus pandemic. The payments are a part of a $9.6 billion relief package, out of which $2.1 billion are grants for small enterprises and accommodation for the farmworkers who were forced -isolated after testing positive for COVID-19.

The budget proposal that was made during the last month called Golden State stimulus is up for approval in the coming week. The golden state stimulus is in addition to $600 per person stimulus checks that have been already approved by Congress. 

The package also provides for more than $400 million in the federal funds out of which enrolled children of all the government-subsidized child- care and pre-school facilities will be given a stipend of $525 per enrolled child.

The governor also announced a free relief for 59,000 restaurants, 600,000 barber and cosmetology businesses. The $600 per person stimulus check payments will be made to around 5.7 million people. These also include people who were missed out during the earlier payments that were made by former President Donald J. Trump. In addition to that, the governor has also announced a total cost of $100 million for the student aid.

“The package would help those who are hurting the most. We are building an economic foundation for the recovery of jobs, small businesses, and, indeed, our everyday lives,” said Anthony Reandon, the speaker of the State Assembly.

In a statement declaring about the relief package, Governor Gavin Newsom said: “As we continue to fight the pandemic and recover, I’m grateful for the Legislature’s partnership to provide urgent relief and support for California families and small businesses where it’s needed most.”
