Girl lost $ 250 Million EuroMillions jackpot due to a small mistake

Briton Rachel Kennedy, who won the EuroMillions jackpot worth millions of dollars, could not claim the prize due to a small mistake, she and her boyfriend made and the lottery franchise wished them with “the best of luck in future draws” instead of money.

A 19-year-old girl had all seven numbers (6, 12, 22, 29, 33, 6, and 11) matched in the lottery. She received a notification on the lottery website.

Rachel called the organizers with the winning numbers. They confirmed that she had matched all the numbers, but noted that her winning could not be counted due to the fact that they never paid for the ticket.

As it was connected to auto payment service, payment never got through from the girl’s account and she didn’t even check the balance in her account.

It turned out that there were not enough funds on her account on the day of debiting.

Rachel, Brighton University’s business student, told the Sun: “I called my boyfriend Liam and my mum into the room and they couldn’t believe it either so I was like, ‘oh my god I need to call them’.

“I called the number thinking that I had won £182million and they said ‘yeah you’ve got the right numbers but you didn’t have the funds in your account for the payment of the ticket so it didn’t actually go through’.

“We’re aware of Rachel’s story and hope she gets in early to buy a ticket for the next big draw,” said Euromillions.
