A British nutritionist advises four natural supplements that can help boost energy, stamina and improve mood.
“In addition to eating well, exercising, and reducing screen time, supplements can be very helpful in filling vitamin deficiencies and improving areas where we have problems, for example, sleep,” says Shivraj Bassi, founder of the nutrition brand Innermost.

Vitamin D, Ashwagandha, L-Tyrosine, and Rhodiola Rosea are the ingredients that improve mood and help overcome depression, according to the specialist.
Vitamin D
First of all, according to the nutritionist, it is necessary to obtain an adequate amount of vitamin D as Deficiency of this vitamin leads to poor production of the hormones serotonin and dopamine, which are responsible for the formation of positive emotions, the development of depressive states and reduced stress tolerance and attention.
“In addition to playing an important role in regulating mood, there is a growing body of reliable research that suggests that vitamin D could help reduce the severity of COVID-19 symptoms,” said the nutritionist.
Vitamin D can be found in oily fish, red meat, and egg yolks.
Ashwagandha
Second, pay attention to Ashwagandha, an Ayurvedic herb often called Indian ginseng. According to the nutritionist, the supplement will help the body to cope with anxiety, depression and insomnia.
“It is used to help the body cope with external stresses, such as toxins in the environment, and internal stresses, such as anxiety, depression and insomnia,” he said.
The nutritionist said that ashwagandha is a “great ingredient to incorporate into the diet to reintroduce a feeling of calm and help you sleep better.”
L-tyrosine
Another popular dietary supplement used to improve alertness, attention, and concentration is L-Tyrosine. It produces important brain chemicals that help nerve cells communicate to improve mood.
This substance is involved in lipid metabolism, regulates appetite and is essential for the production of the neurotransmitters dopamine, epinephrine, and noradrenaline. The supplement helps to cope with stress and prevents the development of memory and attention deficits caused by severe stress.
“Evidence suggests that it may help reduce stress during exposure to acute stressors that tend to lower norepinephrine and may help prevent stress-induced memory and attention deficits,” Shivraj explained.
Rhodiola rosea
Supplementation with Rhodiola rosea, commonly called rhodiola, can relieve symptoms of mild to moderate depression and mild anxiety, as well as improve mood.

“This flowering plant, which is a potent nootropic, has been the subject of extensive research to support its claims about reducing the effects of physical exhaustion that can lead to fatigue, stress and exhaustion,” added Shivraj.”
“It is increasingly being used by people to help them cope with heavy workloads, headaches and improve mood,” he added.
