The number of deaths after inoculation with the Pfizer vaccine in six European countries is much more than that registered after vaccination with the AstraZeneca drug, according to an AstraZeneca report.
According to the balance presented in the report of the Anglo-Swedish company on restoring confidence in anti-COVID vaccines, the total number of deaths per million doses of the Pfizer vaccine administered in France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Norway, Austria, and Italy, is almost three times higher than that caused by AstraZeneca vaccines.

In particular, in France, there were 45.3 and 17.9 deaths per million administered doses of Pfizer and AstraZeneca, respectively.
In Germany the figures are 29.9 for Pfizer and 6.5 for AstraZeneca; in the UK, 20.7 and 24.2; in Norway, 164.3 and 44.6; in Austria, 47.5 and 7.5; and in Italy, 10.9 and 7.3.
It should be noted that in the United Kingdom – the only one of the six countries mentioned where AstraZeneca’s vaccine caused more deaths than Pfizer’s – AstraZeneca’s drug is applied massively and for different categories of patients.
According to data updated for May 26, 72.9% of Britons over 18 have already received one dose of the vaccine, and 44% both doses.
Commenting on the decision of several European states to reject the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine following reports of blood clots in some patients who received it, the British-Swedish company warned that these actions could reduce confidence in vaccines anti-COVID in general.
“The decision made on a vaccine could potentially reduce the confidence of the population in other vaccines”, highlighted AstraZeneca in its report, adding that “insufficiently wide vaccination will prolong the pandemic.”
On April 7, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the World Health Organization (WHO) acknowledged that there is a possible cause-and-effect relationship between AstraZeneca’s anti-COVID vaccine and the development of blood clots, although they pointed out that the number of these cases are very low.
In mid-March, several European countries temporarily suspended the administration of the AstraZeneca vaccine after several fatal cases of thrombosis were recorded after its application.
