The man fell into the mouth of a humpback whale for 30-40 seconds, but the mammal spat him out.
In the United States, a humpback whale swallowed lobster catcher Michael Packard – he survived.
In an interview with WBZ-TV News, he said that he scuba-dived from a ship and suddenly found himself in the mouth of a whale for about 30-40 seconds near Provincetown (Massachusetts).
“I felt a strong jolt and everything went dark,” Packard said.

“And then I felt around and I realized there was no teeth,” he said.
“And then I realized, ‘Oh my God I’m in a whale’s mouth. . . and he’s trying to swallow me.’”
Packard said he thought to himself “This is it, I’m gonna die.”
According to him, in those seconds he was thinking about his wife and two sons, 12 and 15 years old. Suddenly, the whale emerged to the surface, shook its head and released it. The diver reached the boat with suspected dislocated knee.
“Then all of a sudden he went up to the surface and just erupted and started shaking his head. I just got thrown in the air and landed in the water,” Packard recalled.
“I was free and I just floated there. I couldn’t believe. . . I’m here to tell it.”
Packard said that his wife has long been asking to find him another job, but he is not going to give up his 40-year diving career.

“Whales are big and strong, and if something goes wrong when you’re around them, it can be very dangerous,” he warned.
