An American on TikTok reveals how a few dryer sheets can help remove pesky static from your hair

Published on

There are few things more annoying than styling your hair only to realize that it is full of annoying static and no matter what you do, it doesn’t sit properly.

It happens when your hair accumulates an electrical charge, which means that it has gained additional electrons due to friction or a change in humidity.

This means that the strands repel one another, which makes them fuzzy.

But a new viral video on TikTok shows that there is an easy way to remove it, without adding any extra product, which may weigh down your hair.

People have been rubbing dryer sheets to get rid of the charge.

The sheets are usually used in the tumble dryer to tackle wrinkles and static in clothes, so it makes sense.

American Savannah Conroy was one of the first to post the idea, showing how she brushes her hair over the front, gathers it together like she would with a ponytail and then rubs the sheet down it.

Her video has had over 2.5 million views and others have followed.

In response, Jessica Martorell, from Argentina, tried it out and was amazed to see her hair go from a little frizzy to silky smooth in seconds.

Her response video has been watched an amazing 20.8 million times.

Although the videos were posted a few months ago, people are still trying the hack out.

Those who watched Jessica and Savannah’s videos were impressed with the tip.
