New study reports “persistent symptoms” of Covid-19 Breakthrough Infections six weeks after both Pfizer jabs

The latest data shows coronavirus cases have plateaued, signalling a major turn in the pandemic’s fight. The upward trend is probably due to herd immunity. Even fully immunised people can develop breakthrough infections.

A recent Israeli study found “persistent symptoms” of covid-19 infection six weeks after receiving the Pfizer vaccine.

The findings clearly show the vaccine’s widespread success. However, getting double jabbed does not guarantee you won’t get infected.

A new Israeli study indicated that despite being vaccinated, healthcare workers caught COVID-19 and 19% still had symptoms six weeks later.

“Despite the high efficacy of the BNT162b2 messenger RNA vaccine [Pfizer vaccine] against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), rare breakthrough infections have been reported, including infections among health care workers,” said the researchers.

The researchers detected “breakthrough infections” by evaluating symptomatic (including mild symptoms) or infection-exposed health care workers at Israel’s largest medical center.

They recorded 39 breakthrough infections among 1497 completely vaccinated health care workers with data.

Most cases were mild or asymptomatic, but 19% experienced lasting symptoms (up to six weeks).

During their infection, 74% of patients had a high viral load.

Among those diagnosed six weeks later, 19% developed long Covid-19 symptoms.

These included chronic cough, tiredness, weakness, dyspnea, and myalgia.

Nine workers took longer than the minimum 10-day quarantine, but four of them returned to work within two weeks.

One worker had not yet returned after six weeks.
