Several scientific studies have proven that black tea can be a great ally in fighting type 2 diabetes, a disease characterized by high blood sugar levels.

Although there are not many specific studies on black tea that have been carried out, scientists have been able to demonstrate that the infusion of black tea is one of the natural alternatives that can be chosen to improve glycemic control in people who suffer from the disease.

According to a study published in the Asian Pacific Journal of Clinical Nutrition, black tea can reduce the increase in blood glucose at 60, 90 and 120 minutes after ingesting sucrose.

The study consisted of an experiment where the participants before drinking the infusion consumed a diet of 57% carbohydrates, 13% protein and 30% fat followed by the infusion.

While the drink was prepared with black tea leaves, hot water and eliminating caffeine and catechins.

These positive results show that the properties of black tea are beneficial for blood sugar control, although scientists consider that this study should be further studied.
