He commented, “Having lemon and ginger tea before bed can be a soothing and healthy choice with a range of potential benefits. For example, it promotes relaxation.

“Lemon and ginger both possess calming properties that have been shown to help people unwind and relax before sleep. The calmer you are at bedtime, the easier it will be to drift off to sleep.”

Additionally, as the founder of Owl + Lark, Hafiz highlighted its digestive and immune-boosting powers.

He mentioned, “Not only does the citric acid in lemon boost gastric acid secretion and aid digestion, ginger has also acts as a beneficial digestive aid.”

It becomes especially beneficial post a hearty afternoon or evening meal, possibly preventing digestive discomforts and ensuring uninterrupted sleep.

Moreover, with lemon packing a punch of vitamin C and ginger’s immune-enhancing attributes, the duo offers a substantial health uplift, according to the expert.

Hydration is another advantage of this beverage. Hafiz emphasized, “Staying hydrated is essential, especially before bed. Remember, you will not be drinking anything all night, so hydrating yourself is always a good idea before bedtime.”

The duo of lemon and ginger might also play a supporting role in weight management, although Hafiz points out that further research is warranted to establish this conclusively.

For maximum efficacy, Hafiz advocates for using freshly sourced lemon and ginger, as these often pack the most potent compounds devoid of preservatives or synthetic additives.
