The Los Angeles band announced a few hours ago that Josh Klinghoffer leaves the group after ten years as a lead guitarist
Changes in one of the most famous rock bands in the world. The Americans Red Hot Chili Peppers announced just a few hours ago that there is a drop among their ranks and that they are already scheduled for a further reinstatement. Through their social media, Anthony Kiedis and Chad Smith have announced that who has been their guitarist for the past ten years, Josh Klinghoffer, leaves the band.
“Josh is a great musician we respect and love. We are deeply grateful for the time we have spent with him,” they have expressed from the official Red Hot Chili Pepers account, from where they have called the time he has “gift” shared with the band since joining to play in the last part of the Stadium Arcadium album tour.
In addition, members of Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced their replacement on Instagram indicating that, for the third time, John Frusciante will be back on the lead guitar. The Californian will join the group again after having been with them four years after the death by overdose of the Israeli Hillel Slovak, founder of the band, having left it in 92 to recover from his drug addiction and having been part again from her between 1997 and 1998, a year in which he fell into his addiction and was forced to leave the stages to re-engage in the months and record ‘Californication’.
After having recorded five albums with Red Hot Chili Peppers, in 2009 the guitarist announced that he had only been dedicating himself to his personal projects for a year, a work he has dedicated so far and that goes through the publication of EPs such as Letur-Lefr, or PBX Funicular Intaglio Zone and a dozen albums including Enlosure, which was released in 2014.
Tour in 2020
Red Hot Chili Peppers fans can enjoy Frusciante’s performances live on the world tour that the Americans have scheduled to enjoy in May and June 2020, where they will make stops in US cities like Gulf Shores or Boston as well as in several parts of Europe among which Athens, Florence, Landgraaf and Lyon stand out.
