Expert Reveals ‘a Real Surprise Drink’ that You Thought ‘HEALTHY’ May Be Making Your Skin Older

It may be one of the primary causes of premature ageing, according to the expert.

Neuroscientist Robert Love reveals three beverages that could be aging your skin faster than you think. Find out how to maintain youthful skin while enjoying your favorite drinks!

Several studies suggests that the health of your skin isn’t solely dependent on the skincare products you use, but also on the beverages you consume.

According to expert analysis, there are three common drinks that might be accelerating the aging process of your skin, with one of them likely being a daily favorite.

Renowned neuroscientist Robert Love, renowned for his expertise in Alzheimer’s disease prevention through scientific means, recently shed light on a concerning aspect of skincare on his TikTok channel.

Love disclosed that certain beverages could be accelerating the aging process of your skin, much to the surprise of many, especially considering one of the culprits is commonly consumed on a daily basis.

Love highlighted three specific drinks that could be contributing to premature aging of the skin. Among them, the third beverage was particularly shocking to Love himself due to its perceived health benefits.

“Number three was a real surprise to me because it is so healthy for you.”

However, in a silver lining amidst the concerning findings, Love didn’t just identify the problem but also provided a solution. He generously shared insights on how to continue enjoying the beverage in question without compromising the youthful appearance of your skin.

  1. Alcohol

Despite several studies suggesting moderate alcohol consumption might have health benefits, the overall impact of alcohol on your body is largely negative in the long term.

According to Love, alcohol accelerates skin aging primarily by dehydrating the skin. He elaborated, stating, Alcohol dehydrates the body, which in turn dehydrates the skin, leading to a prematurely aged appearance. Moreover, “Alcohol also ages the brain and ages the body.

Alcohol is harmful to the gut, [and] certainly harmful to the liver. Alcohol impairs the brain-gut connection and alcohol is directly harmful to your brain and your sleep,” ultimately proving extremely detrimental to both skin health and overall well-being.

  1. Soda

It’s no surprise that soda, a widely popular beverage, is laden with sugars that can cause spikes in blood glucose levels.

Love pointed out that this spike in blood sugar can lead to increased inflammation, a key factor in the aging process and skin deterioration.

He emphasized, “Don’t get me started on diet soda. Diet soda is even worse for you.”

  1. Coffee

While coffee boasts several potential health benefits, such as supporting brain function and gut health, its caffeine content acts as a diuretic.

As explained by Love, Caffeine dehydrates the body, including the skin, which can accelerate the aging process.

However, He did not ask to give up coffee.

If you enjoy coffee or coffee-infused beverages—which can be beneficial for the brain and body—ensure you stay adequately hydrated with water, “that can ensure that caffeine is not only healthy for you but also your skin looks great as well.”
