A healthy stomach is vital to the body’s overall health. A poor diet might harm your gut health and cause unpleasant symptoms.

Stress, lack of sleep, and inactivity can all negatively impact intestinal health. When your gut isn’t working properly, your body may present many signs.

Here are some indicators of a bad gut:

Upset stomach

A bad gut causes gas, bloating, constipation, diarrhoea, and heartburn. So, if you are going through this, don’t ignore it and take care of it.

Bad breath

“Gut imbalance allows certain types of H. pylori bacteria to take up residence in your GI tract. These bacteria are at the root of many stomach ulcers, and bad breath,” says nutritionist Lovneet Batra.

Breakouts and skin irritations

Unbalanced microbiomes enhance the sensitivity of your skin, making it more susceptible to eczema, dermatitis, acne, and psoriasis.

Sleep disturbance

Unhealthy gut bacteria can disrupt your sleep pattern and result in sleep disorders such as insomnia. Because serotonin is a gut hormone that impacts your mood and sleep, gut injury can impede your ability to sleep effectively.

Inadequate sleep can result in persistent weariness, making daily activities harder.

A lack of sleep might also result in hormone imbalance.

Food intolerances

Food intolerances are the result of having difficulties digesting meals that are not compatible with your body. Certain food intolerances are caused by low-quality bacteria in the gut.

How to maintain a Healthy Gut:

Include adequate prebiotics and probiotics in your diet. Prebiotics include garlic, apples, bananas, and berries, whereas probiotics include yoghurt, kimchi, and sauerkraut.
