How To Spot A Stroke Before It’s Too Late – Warning Sign That Could Appear On Your Face First

Published on

Strokes are a medical emergency that needs prompt care. They happen when the brain doesn’t get enough blood, usually because of a clot. Therefore, recognizing the symptoms as soon as possible might save a life.

It is crucial to identify a stroke as early as possible since prompt treatment is very successful at minimizing its symptoms.

A stroke happens when the blood flow to a portion of the brain is interrupted.

The severity of a stroke can vary, resulting in varying degrees of damage from case to case.

Stroke warning signs

A stroke’s “first” sign could be the “inability to smile,” says Luca Rado, founder of The Live In Care Company.

According to her, the initial indicators of a stroke include a drooping of the face on one side or an inability to smile, as well as a lack of ability to raise one or both arms and maintain them in an elevated position.

“Thirdly, the person may start developing difficulties when speaking which can cause them to slur their words and also might not be able to understand what you are saying to them,” according to the expert.

“If you suddenly notice a change in someone’s behaviour and ability to carry out regular actions, look out for these three signs to determine whether it may be caused by a stroke.”

If you notice any of these signs, you should contact your doctor.

Strokes

Strokes may be caused by several factors.

Ms. Rado said, “There are two main types of stroke, ischemic and hemorrhagic.”

The majority of strokes are ischemic and occur when clots or other particles restrict the flow of blood to the brain.

A hemorrhagic stroke happens when an artery in the brain breaks or leaks.

The following conditions may increase your chance of suffering a stroke:

  • Abnormally high blood pressure (hypertension)
  • High cholesterol levels
  • Abnormal heartbeats (atrial fibrillation)
  • Diabetes.

To lower the risk, the experts suggest eating well, working out regularly, not drinking too much, and quitting smoking.
