Discover foods that protect the body’s “filter” and help it do the job of detoxifying the body

The liver has the ability to act as a filter for the body which keeps most dangerous substances from entering the bloodstream. It also has the ability to “self-cleanse”, but often due to an unhealthy lifestyle and diet, we do not help the liver to do its job.

On the contrary … we are tired. The liver is overloaded when we eat excessive amounts or consume processed or fried foods when we drink excessive amounts of alcohol or carbonated and sugary soft drinks.

Let’s look at the foods – guardians of the liver that help it detoxify promote good liver function, but also overall good health of the body.

Beets: Beets protect the liver by providing the body with antioxidants, vitamin A, vitamin B6, and iron. The pectin, they contain, help eliminate toxins stored in the liver. With the help of pectin, the body “expels” dangerous toxins and does not allow them to enter the bloodstream.

Not coincidentally, beetroot or red bean, is traditionally used to “cleanse” the liver and to prevent a number of diseases. Beetroot and carrots are rich in flavonoids and β-carotene. Consumption of these vegetables can improve liver function.

Broccoli: Thanks to its rich antioxidant composition but also due to the fiber and chlorophyll it contains, it helps the liver and the body as a whole to get rid of harmful substances. Rapeseed vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage enhance the production of liver enzymes that contribute to proper digestive function and the removal of toxins from the body.

Spinach: Green leafy vegetables such as spinach as well as lettuce and arugula are highly nutritious. They are thought to promote, among other things, stimulate the liver. Thanks to their high content of vitamins, minerals, and powerful antioxidants, they contribute to the elimination of dangerous substances from the body, constituting a powerful protective mechanism for the liver.
