This is how Instagram wants to stop TikTok with its new service

Published on

Ever since tikTok absorbed Musical.ly, Mark Zuckerberg must have thought about what to do in case the merger of the two giants had been successful. Now that the expansion of TikTok comes to directly threaten the social universe made on Facebook, everything is ready for the answer: the embankment at TikTok comes from Instagram and is called Reels.

Reels, the anti-Tik Tok

Reels is a kind of small TikTok hidden among the tools of Instagram Stories. Just as you can take a photo or shoot a video, as well as take advantage of instruments like Boomerang, soon you will also be able to shoot a small music clip in everything similar to what you are already doing on TikTok. A copy of the rival? Casa Instagram rejects the accusations, explaining that the music clips are a drive on which many have already invested (argument in fact entirely valid), but for which everyone needs to find their own identifying and peculiar format.

Reels takes its first steps in these hours starting from Brazil, the first country where the novelty was introduced within the iOS and Android versions of Instagram. The service arrives late, when the fence has now been opened and the oxen have escaped, but it has on its side the strength of an already extremely large and active community: Reels is born in fact on the comfortable pillow of Instagram (where with the musical stickers already moved small encouraging tests among Stories), with an already extremely strong user strength and where even the monetization of investments is immediately possible with the adverts between Stories.

Although it was born with the ephemeral condition of History, every Reels video can be turned into a real post to leave on its Instagram wall. Would it work? It should be credited to Zuckerberg for having managed in the past not only to give life to original ideas but also to have been a real sniper when it came to curbing rival ambitions (see Snapchat, given by many in the future as the next Facebook killer). Now with TikTok, the sensations are the same, the challenge seems even more complex, but the firepower of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp still appear well equipped today.
