The current president has pledged to defeat the coronavirus, ensure security in the country and raise the American flag on Mars.
US President Donald Trump has officially agreed to become the Republican presidential nominee.
Trump’s rival in the election will be former US Vice President Joe Biden, who agreed to run for the Democratic Party on August 21. The elections will be held on November 3.
The American leader made a speech, from which it followed that Biden’s victory would be a huge disaster for the United States.
If re-elected, Trump promises to make the United States a manufacturing superpower, return to the moon and raise the American flag on Mars.
The second term will be “even better”
The National Convention of the Republican Party has ended in Washington. Donald Trump has formally agreed to run for a second term in the next presidential election.
Many observers called it the Trump Convention – four of the president’s children, First Lady Melania Trump, as well as the wife of one son and girlfriend of another, spoke at it.
The American leader’s speech was built on criticism of his opponent, former US Vice President Joe Biden – he mentioned him more than 40 times.
“China will become the master of our country if Biden wins the elections,” Trump said.
Trump called him the “Trojan horse for socialism.” According to the incumbent president, Biden is guilty of moving jobs from America to other countries and sending Americans to “endless wars overseas.”
According to the head of the White House, he and his administration will keep the United States away from wars. He also noted that unlike previous administrations, he saved the United States “from new wars” and American troops are now returning home.
He assured that he is committed to “protect America from all dangers” and lead it along the path of further development and prosperity, to continue “the fight against fascism and communism.”
Trump also said that Democrats are radicals destroying the American way of life. According to him, the upcoming presidential elections in the country will decide whether the American dream will be saved or whether they will give the socialists an opportunity to “crush the fate of the United States that is dear to us.”
“What we have achieved is now in danger. These are the most important elections in the history of our countries,” he said.
Trump has compared himself to the 16th President of the United States and the liberator of slaves, Abraham Lincoln. The White House chief believes he has done “more for African Americans than any president since Abraham Lincoln.”
“When I am re-elected, it will be even better,” Trump said.
As for the pressing issue – the coronavirus pandemic, the American leader believes that the Democrats have chosen the wrong path.
“Instead of following the science, Joe Biden wants to arrange painful quarantines across the country. Joe Biden’s plan is not to solve the problem of the virus, but to surrender to the virus,” Trump said, warning that such a policy would only lead to an increase in drug use, depression, suicide and economic destruction.
The American leader has promised to defeat the “powerful and invisible enemy.”
“Like our brave ancestors, we are taking up the challenge. We will create a vaccine before the end of the year, and maybe even earlier. We will defeat the virus, end the pandemic and become stronger than ever before,” he said.
Trump also pledged that the United States would be the first nation to send a female astronaut to the moon. In addition, he said, Americans will be the first nation to raise their flag on Mars.
“We will begin a new era of American leadership in space,” the president said.
In 2019, the Donald Trump administration announced the resumption of the lunar program, dubbed Artemis. Within its framework, it is planned to return a person to the Moon and create conditions for their permanent presence there, which should become a stage on the way to manned missions to Mars.
The Democratic Party believes that only their candidate can stop the chaos and unite the country. Joe Biden says times are tough and he “will fight on the bright side.”
“History has taken us to one of the toughest moments America has ever faced. The worst pandemic in over 100 years, the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, the most compelling call for racial justice since the 60s, and the undeniable threats of climate climate”, he listed his challenges.
Almost all independent opinion polls that have been published in the United States for the past six months give the victory to Joe Biden. The advantage is estimated at 7-13 per cent.
The figures were the same in the last elections. It was believed that Trump supporters were simply embarrassed to admit that they were voting for a Republican, so his victory came as a surprise to many. This time, on the side of the Democrats, the pandemic, which showed the weaknesses of the Trump administration, experts say.
