Over 100 Parcels Mysteriously Delivered to Woman’s Doorstep: Watch the Surprising Unboxing

Action has been taken by Amazon against a merchant following an overwhelming influx of Amazon packages delivered to a Virginia woman’s home, none of which she had ordered.

The unwanted deliveries consisted of an array of items including about 1,000 headlamps for outdoor activities, 800 glue guns, and a multitude of children’s binoculars.

Cindy Smith was the recipient of this unexpected barrage of packages, with her doorstep so overloaded that it became an obstacle for couriers.

Smith revealed that numerous delivery companies, including Amazon and FedEx, were responsible for this avalanche of parcels.

“They came from everybody,” Smith mentioned. “FedEx, Amazon, all of them were delivering boxes.”

In total, over 100 Amazon boxes were unexpectedly shipped to Smith’s residence in Prince William County. Each box was addressed to “Lixiao Zhang” at Smith’s home, despite Smith confirming that no individual by that name resided there.

All the packages were marked as “vendor returns” addressed to Lixiao Zhang, but sent to Smith’s home. The origins of these packages were traced back to 15 different Amazon Warehouse Fulfillment Centers spread across nine states.

Unfortunately, this is not an isolated case. Similar experiences have been shared by other individuals, like Liz Geltman of Northwest D.C.

“It was two rows almost up to the covering the door,” said Liz Geltman from Northwest D.C.

“Like these big towering blocks of you know, you know, children’s blocks of Legos all the way up to the covering the door of my house,” she recalled.

She was receiving packages of children’s sheets and Amazon provided no clarification why.

In response to the events, an Amazon spokesperson stated, “Amazon has systems in place to detect suspicious behavior by sellers, and teams in place to investigate and stop prohibited activity. The seller account that was engaged in this abusive activity has been closed. There is no place for fraud at Amazon and we will continue to pursue all measures to protect our store and hold bad actors accountable.”

Seeing a potential positive side to the situation, CJ Rosenbaum, a New York Attorney suggested that such unwanted products could be donated to charities. Smith took this to heart. Determined to prevent the items from ending up as waste, she distributed the headlamps and glue guns to anyone she met.

With a significant number of Amazon boxes still stored in her basement, Smith is reassured by the fact that no further deliveries from Lixiao Zhang will be arriving at her residence.

When WUSA9 inquired how frequently overseas vendors misuse the addresses of others to dodge paying Amazon for the disposal of old stock, Amazon declined to provide an answer.
