Now Putin’s war is very close to the NATO border!
The area around the western Ukrainian metropolis of Lviv has been shaken by multiple explosions for the first time since the war began more than two weeks ago.
The German press agency and the Reuters agency reported several explosions on Sunday morning, which the office of the mayor of Lviv also confirmed.
However, there were no impacts on the city itself. An air alarm was triggered. People should stay in shelters.
According to the regional military administration in Lviv, eight rockets hit the “Center for International Peacekeeping and Security” northwest of Lviv.
There was a military training ground outside Ukraine’s western city of Lviv, near the border with Poland, a local official said Sunday.
According to Ukrainian local media, there were no casualties. It was not stated whether the rockets hit the area.
The explosions could also be heard in Poland, as a reporter from the German Press Agency from Przemysl reported.
The military site is only about 80 kilometers from the border with Poland.
Lviv is the port of call for hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians who want to leave their country for Europe because of the Russian attack.
