The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday that as of March 16, Russia had lost at least 13,800 soldiers fighting in Ukraine.

MFA of Ukraine posted this information on Twitter:

According to the Twitter post, the Ukrainian army has destroyed 84 fighter jets, 108 helicopters, 430 tanks, 60 cisters, 11 UAV’s and 10 special types of equipment.

Ukraine officials also claim to have destroyed more than 1,300 armored vehicles, 43 anti-aircraft warfare systems.

Volodymyr Zelensky has urged Russian soldiers to surrender, asking them why they should risk their lives.

In the message, the Ukrainian president said: “You won’t take anything from Ukraine. You will take lives. But we will take your lives too.

“We offer you choice: if you surrender, we will treat you as people should be treated. With dignity. Not like your army has treated you.”

According to the International Organization for Migration, more than three million people have fled Ukraine in the last three weeks.

Every day since the war began, 73,000 children have become refugees, a figure that highlights the terrible suffering brought on by Vladimir Putin’s decision to send soldiers into Ukraine.
