Musk pledges a $ 100 million reward for developing best carbon capture technology

The founder of Tesla and SpaceX noted that he will tell more about this proposal next week.

The founder of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, has promised to pay $ 100 million to the creators of the best technology for capturing and storing carbon dioxide. 

He announced the contest on Friday, January 22 on his Twitter page.

“Am donating $100M towards a prize for best carbon capture technology,” Musk wrote. 

He also promised to reveal the details of the proposal next week.

By capturing and storing carbon dioxide, we mean a process that includes the separation of carbon dioxide (CO2) from industrial and energy sources and long-term isolation from the atmosphere. The goal of this process is to combat global warming and environmental pollution.

Recall that Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, donated $ 5 million to a free educational platform for schoolchildren Khan Academy.

Also, Elon Musk planing to sell all his property in order to populate Mars.
