Rapper trying to escape Las Vegas with weed detained at airport

Tory Lanez, a Canadian rapper, was arrested at the Las Vegas airport following the discovery of a “large” amount of pot in one of his bags by TSA inspectors, according to TMZ.

When agents discovered the marijuana, the rapper was attempting to catch a flight out of Vegas on Sunday morning. He was momentarily arrested before being released since marijuana is legal in Nevada, it is not federally lawful, which means one can’t fly with it.

The rapper “Jerry Sprunger” was charged in October 2020 with shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the Hollywood Hills earlier this year.

Medics discovered three significant bullet pieces in Megan Thee Stallion’s feet after Lanez shot at her feet following an argument inside a vehicle in July 2020, according to a medical report obtained by Page Six last week, but she first refused to inform doctors and police that she’d been shot.

Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, is charged with assault with a semiautomatic firearm and driving with a loaded, unregistered firearm.

In November 2020, he entered a not guilty plea and rejected the claims.

If convicted, the “Luv” singer could face a sentence of up to 22 years and eight months in jail. In September, the matter is set to go to trial.
